Cosmetics industry is one of the most dynamically developing markets in recent years. Companies compete in creating new colors, finishes, formulations, technologies and packaging to best meet the needs of customers and meet dynamically changing trends. Greater availability and an increasingly wider range of products have made us, as consumers, more and more aware of our decisions - we carefully look at the ingredients, origin and safety of selected products.

But how can we be sure that the cosmetic we buy has passed the appropriate tests? What legal acts regulate the safe trade of this type of products in the European Union? What to pay attention to when shopping? We will try to answer these and other questions in the text below.

Before the cosmetic hits the shelves

Pursuant to the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council No. 1223/2009 / EC of 30 November 2009, each cosmetic admitted to trading in the European Union must meet a number of requirements regarding the quality of raw materials, the scope of laboratory tests and the conditions in which it was produced. For this industry, the ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practices standard, i.e., the standard of good manufacturing practice, applies. It sets out a number of rules that apply to every manufacturer, concerning, inter alia, staff training, room hygiene, plant equipment, raw materials cleanliness, quality control or appropriate auditing and documentation preparation.

Silcare, as a Polish manufacturer, producing its products in the European Union, also has the ISO 22716 certificate. It has been issued to us by an independent certification body and is an objective proof that our products meet all the guidelines of the industry standard. We therefore have the right to include the ISO 22716 symbol on product labels. You can read the content of the certificate at this address.

Laboratory control

In order for a manufacturer to be able to sell cosmetics under his own brand, he must obtain a cosmetic product safety assessment report from a safety assessor - a specialist working for an independent laboratory, not related to the manufacturer. In order to obtain a report, the manufacturer sends a specific number of cosmetic samples for testing, which are then tested, among others. at an angle:

- compliance of the composition with applicable law,
- the effectiveness of maintenance,
- stability,
- mass compatibility with packaging,
- possible side effects,
- dermatological safety,
- microbiological quality,
- product purity.

Only after obtaining a report, it is possible to register the cosmetic in Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) - the official portal that collects information about products marketed in the EU.

Silcare brand cosmetics obligatorily pass the above tests, thanks to which our customers can be sure that the products they buy are non-toxic, free of contamination, and made of legal, proven raw materials. In one word: safe.

Watch out for labels

An average consumer, standing in front of a drugstore shelf or browsing online products, does not necessarily have the time and opportunity to reach and read all the reports and certificates. So, what should be verified first to be sure that we are dealing with a legal, original and safe product? Its label, of course.

Pursuant to the applicable law, every cosmetic product available on the market must have the following indelible, easy to read and visible information on its container or packaging:

- trade name of the cosmetic product,
- name and surname or registered company and address of the responsible person (the entry used in our company is: Producer / Producer: Silcare sp.z o.o.sp.k., Kostrzyńska 1, 66-400 Gorzów Wlkp., POLSKA / POLAND),
- the nominal content at the time of packing, expressed in units of mass or volume;
- date of minimum durability,
- special precautions,
- product batch number;
- cosmetic product function;
- list of ingredients, preceded by the term "Ingredients".

Additionally, the method of using a given product is marked on the packaging of all Silcare cosmetics.
If, for practical reasons, it is not possible to provide all the required information on the label in the manner described, it is possible to include the list of ingredients, special precautions and the method of use on an enclosed or attached leaflet, label, tape, tag or card.

It is worth bearing in mind the above guidelines, because knowing what a legal label should look like, we can avoid buying a counterfeit, potentially dangerous product.

We hope that a handful of the above information will help you make informed and prudent choices. Remember that when shopping, it is worth using only proven and reliable sources that we trust. Silcare cosmetics are products of a Polish manufacturer with over fifteen years of tradition, from A to Z created at our company's headquarters in Gorzów Wielkopolski. We are constantly working on improving our technologies and formulations to give you products that are not only safe, but also effective and bring satisfaction from use. добавьте это событие в свой календарь
